REST 2026

Formerly known as our Summer Mentor Institute (SMI), REST is a one-day conference that brings together experienced educators, campus leaders, and district administrators to collaboratively explore how we can better:

– Retain teachers by building cultures of trust, belonging, and support.
– Equip educators and leaders with practical tools and strategies.
– Sustain systemic, long-term approaches to educator well-being.
– THRIVE by imagining what becomes possible when sustainable support and care are embedded in school culture.

In the past, SMI was centered on new teacher mentorship. While mentoring remains a core part of our work at THRIVE, we’ve renamed and expanded the conference to REST (Retain, Equip, Sustain, THRIVE) to reflect a broader focus on teacher retention and the systems, cultures, and leadership practices that help educators stay, grow, and thrive. Additionally, as the name suggests, this gathering will feature sessions about mental wellness that allow leaders to explore how to make self-care a central part of school culture. These experiences are designed to be highly interactive, with time for discussion, group work, and concrete takeaways that participants can bring back to their schools or districts.
